What changes for an 18+ business
- POS, website, invoicing and social tools work as for any other business; the marketplace listing is limited.
- Your store does not appear in public search, on the home page, in category pages, sitemaps, Google/Meta feeds or Shoppi ads.
- Your store page is visible only to signed-in shoppers who confirmed they are 18+ (21+ for alcohol and tobacco in the US).
- Explicit adult content (pornographic media, erotic services) is not accepted on the marketplace: a store our classifier flags is put under review for everyone until staff decide, and may be removed.
- Our classifier reviews catalogues and may apply the limitation even without a declaration.
- Payments run through your own Stripe Connect account, opened by Shoppi for your location. Stripe reviews age-restricted businesses: it may ask for licenses or extra documents and can refuse some categories (sexually oriented items and adult content, tobacco and vape, CBD, alcohol without a license). Shoppi cannot override Stripe’s decision.
By continuing you confirm that you hold the licenses your products need and verify the buyer’s age at delivery (alcohol, tobacco), and that photos and descriptions contain no explicit imagery.
